Guelph police report an Erin man was arrested following a hit and run collision Thursday night.
Approximately 10:20 p.m. several witnesses reported seeing a pickup truck strike an SUV in a parking lot on Woodlawn Road West before driving away. One witness said the driver of the pickup appeared to be drinking a beer.
An officer located and stopped the pickup a short distance away and noted alcohol on the driver’s breath. He conducted a roadside breath test which resulted in a warning and located an open can of beer beside the driver’s seat.
A 28-year-old Erin man is charged with failing to stop at an accident and driving with open alcohol. His licence was suspended for three days.
