GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Make it a fifth term for Chris White, and he didn't have to wait until election night to find out.

White was acclaimed as the mayor of Guelph/Eramosa Township, and will continue on in the role he's known since 2006.

And when he looks out at the horseshoe, he will see a number of familiar faces.

Bruce Dickieson and Corey Woods will be back at the table for another mandate, while Mark Bouwmeester was acclaimed to his Ward 4 seat. Steven Liebig, a longtime municipal council candidate sworn into office following the resignation of Louise Marshall last March, won the seat in Ward 3.

Dickieson was elected to his second term in Ward 1, despite a lower vote count than four years ago.

  • Bruce Dickieson: 341
  • Philip Mullis: 197

Woods is back for a fourth term in Ward 2 after taking down two challengers. He won two previous elections (2018, 2010) and was acclaimed in 2014.

  • Corey Woods: 237
  • Damian Mallard: 125
  • Peter Jones: 123

Liebig has been persistent in his search for a council seat. Before he was given the Ward 3 seat in March after Marshall's resignation, he lost elections in Ward 4 in both 2006 and 2010, and Ward 3 in 2018.

  • Steven Liebig: 718
  • Lisa Logan-Dayman: 306

The acclaimed Bouwmeester is heading into his third term in Ward 4, after winning elections in 2014 and 2018.

Also acclaimed was Matthew Bulmer. He moves over from town councillor in Puslinch to county councillor, as he was the lone candidate running in Ward 7 for Wellington County.

Breen, acclaimed to the post in both 2014 and 2018, will once again represent Ward 8 at Wellington County council after winning a two-person vote.

  • Doug Breen: 1,545
  • Melanie Flake: 692
