Tom Takacs has been announced as the Ontario Liberal Party candidate for Wellington-Halton Hills.

WELLINGTON-HALTON HILLS – As the provincial election is already underway, the last major candidate for Wellington-Halton Hills has finally been announced.

The Liberal Party of Ontario announced in a press release Tom Takacs has been nominated as their candidate for Wellington-Halton Hills in the June 2 provincial election.

The press release stated Takacs is a first-generation Canadian, master electrician and educator who owns a small business focused on trades education.

He is also a volunteer who served as a past executive at his local legion branch.

“I have seen four decades of political change, including the good, the bad and the ugly,” Takacs said in a press release. “I believe in the wellbeing of our children, future prosperity for young families and respect and dignity for our elders. That’s why I’m excited to jump into the ring as part of the new Ontario Liberal team.”

Takacs wasn’t immediately available for comment.

He appears to have run in past elections both federally and provincially as an NDP candidate for the Mississauga East-Cooksville riding.

Takacs will be up against Progressive-Conservative Ted Arnott, NDP’s Diane Ballantyne, Green Party’s Ryan Kahro and other fringe party candidates in the riding.
