WELLINGTON COUNTY – Centre Wellington and Puslinch may soon be sharing a fire chief.

At a special Puslinch meeting held Wednesday morning after a closed session, council approved executing a shared service agreement with Centre Wellington with respect to the services of a fire chief, appointing Tom Mulvey to serve in that role effective June 29.

Mulvey has served as Centre Wellington’s fire chief for a little over a year after he was chosen as a replacement for retiring Brad Patton.

Puslinch’s current interim fire chief Brad Bigrigg will resume his role as deputy fire chief of administration for Puslinch fire and rescue services.

Mulvey was not immediately available for comment on this story and Kendra Martin, Centre Wellington spokesperson, said the township has no comment at this time.

It was noted during the Puslinch meeting this will be subject to Centre Wellington finalizing the agreement.

Puslinch CAO Glenn Schwendinger also declined to comment until a media release is sent out on Monday.
