CENTRE WELLINGTON – Despite a lot more names on the Centre Wellington council remuneration list, the total paid out to council was marginally down in 2022 over 2021.

Last year, a council remuneration and expense report shows mayors and councillors were paid a total just under $203,000 for salaries, meetings and expenses.

This is down by $1,000 over 2021.

Former mayor Kelly Linton topped the list at $44,200 for the year and was followed by the six councillors from his term. They were paid:

  • Kirk McElwain, $23,000
  • Ian MacRae, $20,700
  • Steven VanLeeuwen, $20,700
