CENTRE WELLINGTON – Former basketball coaches and teammates of a late Elora girl are taking on a marathon challenge to raise money for a new court in her honour.

The CW Celtics will be doing a 24 hour shooting marathon, where members from Addy Hill’s team will shoot the basketball continuously for a full day straight.

Hill was a 14-year-old Elora resident and member of the CW Celtics who died from a rare sarcoma cancer in 2022.

“To honour her memory and ensure her legacy lives on, Addy’s teammates and coaches are now rallying for a new cause,” a web page said.

The funds raised are intended to go towards a basketball court in Centre Wellington and will be named in her honour.

The marathon will start on Sept. 28 at 7 a.m. and go until Sept. 29 ending at 7 a.m. The event will take place at the Move training facility at 949 Glengarry Dr., Fergus.
