A female faces impaired driving and drug charges following a traffic stop Tuesday evening.
Approximately 10:30 p.m., Guelph police observed a vehicle driving erratically near the downtown. The driver did not immediately react to green lights then was driving well below the speed limit while repeatedly swerving across the centre line.
The vehicle was stopped on York Road, mounting the sidewalk as it pulled over. The driver was showing signs of impairment by a drug. While checking the vehicle for signs of recent drug use, officers discovered baggies containing suspected crack cocaine and fentanyl, as well as pipes and a naloxone kit.
A 60-year-old female from Guelph-Eramosa Township is charged with impaired operation and two counts of possessing a controlled substance. She will appear in a Guelph court March 1.
