Flair plane ends up in grass at local airport (updated)

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says it will be looking into the runway overrun of the Boeing 737

A plane belonging to Flair Airlines ended up in the grass at the Region of Waterloo International Airport this morning.

The plane is located just off the runway.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says it will be looking into the runway overrun of the Boeing 737. The TSB is now sending a team of investigators to the scene.

The airline has also now provided information about the incident.

It said flight F8 501 from Vancouver to the Region of Waterloo International Airport exited the runway at the end of its landing. No injuries were reported.

Passengers deplaned and were transported to the terminal by bus.

"The safety and well-being of our passengers and crew is our top priority." the airline added in a post on social media.

This morning the door to the plane is open and there are some emergency vehicles there as well. Police remain, but fire crews that were there earlier have since left.

"At the moment, no activity going on around the plane. However, I am hearing that they are working on figuring out how its (plane) going to be towed off of this grass, and Flair will likely be in charge of figuring that out."
