The Elora Fergus Arts Council (EFAC) proudly presents the next instalment of its 2025 Art Talks Series, featuring motion picture set designer and EFAC member Michael Madden
Ever wondered what it’s like to build cinematic worlds? In “Designing Worlds for the Silver Screen,” Michael Madden will take us behind the scenes of his globe-trotting career designing sets for iconic films like The Hulkand Good Will Hunting. He will share personal stories, design insights, and showcase examples from his design work, providing a rare glimpse into the creative and technical aspects of movie set design. A Q&A session will follow the talk.

About Michael Madden
Michael Madden is an Elora-based artist and designer with an MA from Yale University. Over his decades-long career in the film industry, he has traveled the world, designing sets and transforming environments to bring cinematic worlds to life.
Alongside his film work, Michael creates artwork that explores human-altered landscapes. His pieces have been featured in the Carmichael Canadian Landscape Exhibition and the Insights Juried Art Exhibition.
