NEWS RELEASE
THE GROVE WELLINGTON GUELPH
*************************
The Grove Wellington Guelph is a “one-stop-shop” for youth aged 12-26 designed to meet a wide range of needs including mental health, substance use, primary care, education, employment, training, housing and other community and social services. As part of their programming, The Grove Wellington Guelph offers programs for parents and caregivers to become more involved in the mental health and wellness journey of their youth.

The Family Engagement Workshops run each month with a new topic. The month of November, Men’s Health Awareness Month, will be on the topic “How to have a tough conversation with your youth about substance use and harm reduction”. The session will be held on November 15 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. running both online and in person. The in-person session will be at The Grove-Main Place Erin, 10 Thompson Cres, Erin.

This session provides support to all but is timely with Men’s Health Awareness Month. According to Statistics Canada men have higher rates of abuse of or dependence on alcohol and cannabis than their counterparts. Attending this session will help parents and caregivers to become more involved in the mental health and wellness journey of their youth, especially young men.

The program will run in partnership with Jewish Addiction Community Services Toronto (JACS Toronto). JACS works to deliver unified education, programming, care and support to all those affected by addiction.
