Local hospitals and health care centres are about to benefit from nearly $1 million in provincial funding this year.

St. Joseph's Health Care will get $454,246, while Groves Memorial Community Hospital will take in $150,000. Guelph General Hospital will receive $27,084.

Meantime, Guelph Community Health Care will get $304,868.

Last week, the provincial government announced a $182 million investment this year to support infrastructure upgrades and repairs in health care centres and hospitals across Ontario.

"Our government is making investments to ensure Ontario’s hospitals and community health infrastructure continue to be state-of-the-art facilities," health minister Sylvia Jones said in a news release.

"This funding will also help build the capacity we need to end hallway health care and ensure people continue to receive world-class care."
