WELLINGTON COUNTY – More than two years after the pandemic first hit the region, the County of Wellington’s employee redeployment program to assist Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health efforts has ended.

A report going to the administration, finance and human resources committee noted over 120 county employees were redeployed outside of their department.

This included 25 employees who were redeployed to assist public health in their community COVID-19 vaccination clinics.

The report said the formal redeployment effort finished at the end of May with the last employee returning back to work at the County of Wellington.

The county will be recognizing these employees with a luncheon at the Wellington County Museum and Archives grounds in September.
