GUELPH – An Elora based residential drug addiction rehabilitation centre for youth has expanded its reach to a new office in Guelph.

On Thursday, Portage Ontario opened a satellite office at 85 Norfolk St. in Downtown Guelph.

A news release stated this allows Portage to extend its services outside of its residential centre in Elora to help more youth living with addiction and mental health concerns.

This program serves at-risk youth living with substance use disorders in the Guelph area, Wellington County and neighbouring regions.

Experienced counsellors will be onsite weekdays for supports including: youth drop-ins, parent drop-ins, after school group, community liaison and consultation hours, parent support groups and youth pre-care support.

This project is funded by Ontario Health West.

Portage Ontario operates a residential drug addiction rehabilitation centre for youth in Elora. This treatment centre serves Ontario youth referred by parents, schools, family physicians, hospitals, other addiction-treatment and youth-serving agencies, as well as Youth Justice and the Children's Aid Society.
