The RCMP Musical Ride will come to Erin later in August.

ERIN – A musical equine charity show is making its way to Erin later this month.

The RCMP Musical Ride will have two shows at the Erin Fairgrounds on Aug. 27 raising money for the Erin Agricultural Society (EAS) with proceeds going towards a permanent agri-education building.

The musical ride features 29 horses and riders performing a variety of figures and drills choreographed to music.

The EAS previously hosted the musical ride in 2016.

The musical ride was first developed in 1876 by members of the North-West Mounted Police to display their riding abilities and entertain local communities with the first recorded display in Regina in 1901.

The show will also include: Four Paws Flying Entertainment, world champion stunt dogs, the Fergus Pipe Band, face painting, mini horses and food trucks.

There are two shows at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. rain or shine.
