WEATHER ALERT
ENVIRONMENT CANADA
*************************
Snow squall warning replaces snow squall watch for:

  •    Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County

Current details:
Lake effect snow squalls beginning this evening.

Hazards:
Local accumulations near 20 cm by Saturday afternoon.
Very poor visibility in bursts of heavy snow and local blowing snow.

Timing:
Beginning this evening and ending Saturday afternoon.
Snow squalls possible again Sunday.

Discussion:
Lake effect flurries will affect the area today with a few centimetres possible. More significant lake effect snow squalls are expected to move south into the area this evening. These snow squalls will move north of the area Saturday afternoon but may return on Sunday.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.
