ERIN – The Town of Erin is reporting ending 2022 in a strong financial situation with a six-figure surplus.

On Friday, the town announced it had a $545,000 surplus for the fourth quarter of 2022, marking the sixth consecutive year of ending with a surplus.

A release from the town stated the benefits to a surplus include contributing to the tax stabilization reserve, investments into the community, infrastructure and essential services.

"The surplus at the end of 2022 and the consistent fiscal management displayed by the Town of Erin is a testament to our commitment to the responsible stewardship of public funds,” said Mayor Michael Dehn in a press release.

“The surplus will provide future value for residents and the community. We are proud to have maintained this positive trend for the sixth consecutive year, which is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of our team."
