WELLINGTON COUNTY – Last year’s Western Ontario Super Hockey League (WOSHL) champions have clinched a playoff spot after a win this weekend.
The Elora Rocks home game win Friday night secured a spot in the playoffs according to the WOSHL Twitter account.

The Rocks had a dominant 8-1 win over Erin Blitz that included a six-goal first period.
Elora sits fourth in the nine team league with 10 wins and six losses.
It wasn’t all bad for Erin that weekend as the following day the team got itself a home game win.
The Blitz won a close one against the Plattsville Lakers on Saturday 8-6.
Both teams stayed even with each other, scoring one and three goals each in the first and second period respectively.
However, Erin pulled ahead with a four goal third period getting the team a third win this season and out of last place.
The team is now ranked eighth in the standings with three wins and 12 losses.
It’s a two match weekend for Elora who take on the Tillsonburg Thunder at the Elora Community Centre.
On Saturday, Erin will get a rematch with Elora on home ice at 7:30 p.m. at the Erin Centre 2000.
