The Whalers started their season in the win column with a 4-2 road victory against the Goderich Flyers on Saturday.
The next day on home ice, Fergus fell short against the Hanover Barons 3-2.
The team plays in Kincardine next Saturday and then is on home ice again Sunday afternoon against fellow Wellington County team the Mount Forest Patriots.
Mount Forest Patriots
The Patriots won twice in high scoring games this weekend.
Mount Forest shut out the Kincardine Bulldogs 6-0 on Friday on home ice. This was followed up with a 9-6 win against the Walkerton Capitals Saturday at home again.
The Patriots have another two game weekend ahead, first at home against the Barons on Saturday and then against Fergus Sunday afternoon at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.
