It is with great sadness that the family of James MacQuarrie announces his passing on Saturday, September 4, 2021.
Loving husband to Marilyn (Tuck) of 51 years. Loving father of Phil (Chantelle), Vaughn, Carol, Shawn and Michael (Shari). Grampa to Kylie, Kari, Sam, Jim, Julia, and Sky. Great Grampa to Mason and Stella. Brother in law to Jeanette, Joan (Craig) and Lloyd (Judy), and special uncle to Robert MacQuarrie. Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Annie, brother Allen and sister Jeanie.
Jim barbered in Fergus for 49 years taking over from his father Jim. In those 49 years he went into hair styling called ‘Guys and Gal’s’. Those were fun days with the gals that worked for him. I am sure there were many stories, laughs and fun behind those doors, which he loved and missed deeply when he retired. Jim was a music lover from a very young age and got a band going with local boys called ‘The Reivers’, playing at many functions in town and out- another big thing he missed when it ended. He was a proud Legion Member for over 50 years. He will be so missed, but in our hearts forever.
A private family interment will be held at Belsyde Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 12:15 p.m. at the Fergus Legion Branch# 275, 500 Blair St. Memorial donations may be made to Groves Memorial Hospital. www.grahamgiddyfh.com
