A 15-year-old cyclist suffered serious injuries after a collision with a vehicle on May 31, 2022

TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH — The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver in a collision that saw a 15-year-old cyclist suffer serious injuries on Highway 89, east of Mount Forest. As a result of the investigation, Raymon E. Hamblin, 85-years-old of Kitchener, has been charged with Failing to Stop at an Accident Resulting in Bodily Harm contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph at a later date.

On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at approximately 8:20 p.m., emergency services responded to report of a collision involving a bicycle and motor vehicle at a Highway 89, Twp of Wellington North. The cyclist was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

The OPP would like to thank those members of the public who assisted by providing information to investigators.
