Guelph-Eramosa Township driver faces several charges near Parry Sound

MCDOUGALL TOWNSHIP - On Jan. 8, 2022 at approximately 12:20 p.m., members from the West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 400 in McDougall Township.

After speaking with the driver, officers concluded alcohol had been consumed. The driver was arrested and transported to the West Parry Sound OPP detachment where further testing was conducted.

As a result of further investigation, Julian Dunn, 35 years old of Guelph-Eramosa Township, Ont. was charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand, contrary to Section 320.15(1) of the Criminal Code
  • Careless driving, contrary to Section 130(1) of the Highway Traffic Act
  • Drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor, contrary to Section 42(1)(a) of the Liquor License Control Act

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on Feb. 17, 2022. The accused was issued a 90-day administrative drivers licence suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
