Intimate partner violence release violation leads to charge: police

Accused held for bail after failure to comply with undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code

A 29-year-old from Wallaceburg is in custody after Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police investigated a violation in Palmerston of an Intimate Partner Violence charge, a news release stated.

On April 18 at approximately 3 p.m., police responded to a reported release order violation. It was alleged that an individual may be violating a release order in relation to charges stemming from an Intimate Partner Violence investigation.  

As a result of the subsequent investigation, the suspect has been charged with failure to comply with undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held for bail.
