OPP remind people that taking from locked donation bins is still stealing

Several times over the last few months unknown suspects have damaged and entered the locked clothing donation bins and stole several items

TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH - On Sept. 6, 2021, at approximately 1:25 p.m. the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment received a theft report from a business on Main Street in Mount Forest.

It was reported that several times over the last few months unknown suspects have damaged and entered the locked clothing donation bins and stole several items.

The complainant further advised that as suspects loot through the bin, they throw the remaining unwanted items on the ground which end up soiled, damaged and unsaleable.  

Wellington County OPP is asking anyone who has knowledge of this incident to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip on-line at www.csgw.tips. You may be eligible for a reward from Crime Stoppers of up to $2,000.
