On March 12 at around 10 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a shoplifting at a retail business on Tower Street South in Fergus.
It was reported a person had stolen a bottle of perfume valued at about $150, police said in a news release.
As a result of an investigation, a 33-year-old Fergus resident has been charged with theft under $5,000.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on May 5.
