Pickup truck smashes through building in Mapleton (Update)

No serious injuries have been reported

UPDATE: Wednesday, May 18, 10:20 a.m. 

Wellington OPP stated in a press release a pickup truck driver, a 41-year-old from Palmerston, struck a restaurant at 6:45 a.m. which trapped the driver.

The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and no one inside the restaurant was injured.

MAPLETON – OPP are reporting no serious injuries after a pickup truck smashed into a building in Mapleton. 

West Region OPP’s Twitter account posted just before 8 a.m. Wednesday morning they were at the scene of a single-vehicle collision at Wellington Road 86 and Sideroad 15 near Listowel. 

In a video, media officer Joshua Cunningham said a pickup truck ran into a building. Cunningham said no serious injuries have been reported in this collision.

OPP photos show a dark pickup truck broke through right through the building’s wall.

A cause is being investigated and those with information are asked to call 1-888-310-1122.
