Asphalting 10 road sections to cost Centre Wellington almost $2 million

Areas to be asphalted include the Fergus Fire Station, the main entrance parking at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex and sections of Gartshore Street in Fergus

CENTRE WELLINGTON – It will cost the township approximately $2 million to asphalt ten roads in 2024. 

Councillors approved tendering the asphalting of various roads to Cox Construction Limited during a Centre Wellington council meeting Monday evening. 

It will cost approximately $1.9 million to asphalt the roads, including contingency and excluding HST.

The 10 sections to be asphalted include: 

- Eighth Line West, Sideroad 11 to Wellington Road 17, Pilkington

- St. George Street East, Herrick Street to Gartshore Street, Fergus

- Gregson Court, Gartshore Street to Dead End, Fergus

- Gartshore Street, Glengarry Crescent to Sideroad 10, Fergus

- Fergus Fire Station, Fergus

- Main Entrance Parking at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, Fergus

- Elora West Garage, Elora
