CENTRE WELLINGTON – An unspecified situation has put two Fergus schools into a hold and secure.
Following a news tip, UGDSB spokesperson Heather Loney confirmed with EloraFergusToday in an email Centre Wellington District High School is currently in a hold and secure due to "a situation outside of school."
A hold and secure means business as usual inside the school but the school doors are locked and no one is permitted in or out of the building.
As a precautionary measure, Loney said they have asked nearby JD Hogarth Public School to go into a hold and secure as well.
UGDSB is cooperating with police as they investigate.
