GUELPH/WELLINGTON – Guelph General Hospital and Groves Memorial Community Hospital will be part of a joint fundraising lottery that includes over 50 hospitals.

Split the Pot Lottery returns after a successful pilot in the fall with a total of 51 partner hospitals and a guaranteed minimum jackpot of $500,000.

The lottery is divided among 13 grand prize winners and 26 chances for early bird prizes totaling $76,000.

Hospitals also win as a portion of proceeds from every ticket sold go directly to partnered hospitals through their respective foundations to fund healthcare initiatives.

“The initial lottery exceeded expectations and we can’t wait to see the impacts of Split the Pot on our local health care,” said Paul McIntyre Royston, Grand River Hospital Foundation CEO, in a media release. “Our portion of the proceeds will support critical projects and infrastructure that improve patient experience across Grand River Hospital.”

Tickets are on sale now and can be bought online. All tickets purchased before midnight Feb. 15 will be eligible for early bird prizes and the grand prize draws.

The lottery runs until March 21.

Tickets can be bought and more information can be found here.
