Wellington Duffering Guelph Public Health has issued a health alert after seven fentanyl-related drug poisonings in Guelph on Thursday.
Public health said there may be substances circulating in the Guelph area that are stronger than usual, based on the following information:
- 7 substance-related poisonings in Guelph Thursday
- Evidence indicates involvement of fentanyl. Light green fentanyl has been identified, but it is likely that other colours/types may also pose similar risk.
- Please take care when using any unregulated drugs as supply may be stronger than usual
The City of Belleville had 23 reported overdoses over a two-day period earlier this week, including 13 in one two-hour period.
