From now until Dec. 31, Linamar Corporation is matching donations made to The Grove Hubs Wellington Guelph. With the aim of providing integrated mental health, wellbeing, and life-skills services to youth across Guelph and Wellington County, The Grove Hubs is turning to the local community for donations this holiday season.

“Right now, youth are struggling,” said Jeff Hoffman, interim executive director of The Grove Hubs Wellington Guelph. “The support and donations made by generous individuals and businesses across our community allow us to continue to support and provide vital care and ongoing mental health support to our local youth.”

Linamar, a manufacturing company headquartered in Guelph, will be matching gifts made to The Grove Hubs until the end of the year.

“The Grove would also like to thank Linamar for their generous contribution to our fundraising efforts,” said Hoffman. “Linamar is a long-time supporter of The Grove Hubs and we deeply appreciate their commitment to supporting youth in our community through donation-matching.”

Local public health data for Guelph and Wellington County shows that one-in-five youth in the region are in need of mental health support. In 2023, The Grove Hubs saw over 32,000 youth visits across its sites, providing support, resources, programming and mental health services to youth, providing an accessible solution to an ongoing problem.

“It was a busy year at The Grove Hubs,” said Hoffman. “We continue to see youth in need of our services, and as we strive to keep up with the overwhelming demand in our region. Donations made to The Grove ensure we are able to continue the work we are doing in our community and help us grow our services to support the young people we see in our spaces.”

The Grove’s website shares a breakdown of how different donation amounts can make a difference. $25 can support group workshops for youth, $300 provides addiction counselling and $2,500 funds an entire day at The Grove for a youth.
