Local minor lacrosse holding 'try lacrosse' events

Those interested can get instruction on the sport and learn the basics at events in Fergus and Arthur

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Do you want to give lacrosse a go? 

Centre Wellington Minor Lacrosse (CWML) and Arthur Minor Lacrosse are hosting try lacrosse events this month.

CWML is holding them at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Gord Brown and Unity hall.

Participants will get instruction about the sport and learn the basics of lacrosse while having the opportunity to make friends and find out if it is the right sport for them.

Needed for the CWML events are:

  • Helmet with cage
  • Lacrosse or hockey gloves
  • Indoor shoes
  • Athletic clothes

The next event is on Feb. 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and includes free pizza. Another event will be held on Family Day, Feb. 19 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Registration is required for all participants which can be done online or with a registrar on-site during the event.

Arthur Minor Lacrosse is holding an event for girls only on Feb. 12 at Arthur Public School's gym. Session times are 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for ages seven to 11 and 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. for ages 13 and up. 

Equipment required includes helmets, gloves and sticks. Some sticks will be available for use upon request.
