The Town of Minto, Minto Fire, and All Aboard Palmerston, want to light up the sky and ring in the New Year at the annual Fire and Ice event. This year will also be a kick-off to the Town of Minto’s 25th anniversary.

The event will be held at the Palmerston Arena from 6-8 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2023 and is set to include a full slate of activities, related to the event’s theme.

Inside the arena, visitors can enjoy the best parts of the winter season with free public skating (pre-registration required), take photos with the ice queen and princess and cozy up with hot chocolate, treats, and food by local community groups. New this year, kids can get free glitter tattoos and enjoy a bubble show (from 6:15 – 6:45 p.m.).

Outside, families can warm up around outdoor fire pits, watch a blacksmithing demonstration, and enjoy a meal from Berlin 95 Food Truck.

At 7:30 p.m., an incredible Fire Show will take place on the ice surface of the arena and at 8 p.m. everyone can gather outside for a huge fireworks display.

“2023 has been an incredible year and we can’t wait to celebrate with our fellow community members,” says Marketing and Community Development Coordinator, Erin Raftis. “The event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our amazing event sponsor, Blessings to You Centre, as well as the staff and crew at the Town of Minto.”
