Numerous charges laid against man in Rockwood incident

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) - On June 13, 2022, a break-in occurred at a residence on Fourth Line, near Rockwood. Cash, Jewellery and two handguns were stolen. On June 14, 2022, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to stop the driver of a vehicle suspected to be involved with the break-in on Wellington Road 30, Marden, but the driver fled.

As a result of the investigation, Kevin Michael Drexler, 38 years old of no fixed address, has been charged with break and enter a place and steal a firearm, possession of a firearm obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, flight from police, dangerous operation, fail to comply with release order, possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order, and transfer firearm without authority, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused has also been charged with drive motor vehicle, no plates and suspended driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and with operate motor vehicle without Insurance contrary to the Compulsorily Insurance Act.
