Did you know that there are more than 18 artists working in studios within the building at the Elora Centre for the Arts? Normally they are closed to the public, but for ONE WEEKEND leading into Christmas, they are opening their doors so you can wander the halls and shop one-of-a-kind artist-made gifts at affordable prices. Open House weekend will take place throughout the building on Saturday November 25 and Sunday November 26 from 10AM – 4PM. There is no charge for admission.

“This is the third year of this Open House weekend event”, said Nadine McEwen, a sculptor from the Schoolhouse Arts Cooperative located in the south end of the building. “We will be showcasing unique gift ideas and stocking stuffers that have been made by artists in our studio” she says. Pottery, “found object” sculpture, needle felting, original art and prints are just a few of the artistic mediums you will find for sale in their studio.

“It is truly wonderful to help uplift the many talented artists and artisans who make and create in this building and who are part of the local arts community in Elora”, says ECFTA Executive Director Lianne Carter. “The beauty of this place is when artists can collaborate to create a special event like this” says local encaustic artist Nancy Ariss who shares the 2nd Floor Studio space with Terry Gregg.
