PUSLINCH – A county bridge located in rural Puslinch near the 401 has been closed after an inspection.

The Paddock Bridge, located on Wellington Road 35 between Concession 1 and Concession 2 in Puslinch, was closed Friday as a result of a failure of a section of the bridge’s deck.

An email from County of Wellington’s roads manager Joe de Koning stated further inspection by engineers determined for public safety reasons the bridge needs to be closed due to structural deterioration.

It will remain closed until replaced and efforts are being made to expedite a tender package and obtain required approvals.

Paddock Bridge was scheduled to be replaced in 2024 but this has been moved up to 2023.

Wellington Road 35 will be closed at the bridge location with a detour route using Concession 1, Sideroad 20 South and Concession 2.
