Tartan Day to be celebrated on Sunday in Fergus

A full lineup of activities is planned in Downtown Fergus including archery, dancing and music

FERGUS – Get your kilts ready as Fergus will be extra Scottish this weekend.

Tartan Day, officially falling on Saturday, will be celebrated on Sunday with a day full of activities in downtown Fergus. 

The lineup of activities include:

  • Archery behind the library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Blue Bonnet dancers along the Riverwalk at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
  • Celtic Henna tattoos, Celtic oracle and tarot readings at The Bookery 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Face painting at This Wee Space from noon to 3 p.m.
  • Gemstone bracelet make and take at Echoes from noon to 4 p.m.
  • A historical walking tour starting at the library at 2 p.m.

The Fergus Pipe Band and the Grand Celtic Pipe Band will be providing walk-around music. 

Local bars will also be participating in a whiskey cocktail competition starting Friday to Sunday. Participating establishments are: Breadalbane Inn, Brew House on the Grand, Offside Sports Bar, Outpost Bottle Shop, The Goofie Newfie and The Vault.
