CENTRE WELLINGTON – Team Addy has delivered a big donation to SickKids Foundation.

On Wednesday, the team in honour of Elora’s Addison Hill presented a cheque for $212,568 going towards sarcoma research. This was announced on the Team Addy Facebook page that same day.

“This is a significant contribution that should be celebrated, and will make a difference for future sarcoma patients,” the Facebook post stated. “You have all helped make this difference together as a community.”

Addison Hill, known as Addy, was a 14-year-old from Elora who died in the summer after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called angiosarcoma in 2021.

Addy’s mother Jessica Hill confirmed via email this money raised includes all proceeds from the Team Addy Family Fun Day fundraiser and silent auction held in July, Team Addy apparel, tickets sold from a ring draw and other donations that came in after she passed.

The initial goal for the event was to raise $14,000.
