ERIN – The Erin Blitz finished its inaugural season in the Western Ontario Super Hockey League (WOSHL) with two big wins to clinch sixth seed in the playoffs.

The action started at home on Saturday evening, with Erin besting the Alvinston Killer Bees 8-2.

Despite the Killer Bees coming out of the first period in the lead with two goals to Erin’s one, those would be the only goals Alvinston would score. The Blitz scored seven unanswered goals for a dominant win.

The team followed this up in a similar way Sunday afternoon on home ice again with an 8-3 win over the Delhi Flames.

Erin consistently out scored and out shot Delhi all game registering double the amount of shots on net with 32 to the Flames’ 16.

WOSHL’s regular season has now wrapped up and both of Wellington County’s teams are heading to the playoffs.

The Elora Rocks are seeded second and will be up against Alvinston in a best-of-five series in the first round of the playoffs. Game one will be in Elora Friday evening and move to Alvinston Saturday..

Erin Blitz are up against the Stratford Fighting Irish starting the series in Stratford on Saturday and in Erin the Sunday.
