WELLINGTON COUNTY – It was a good weekend for both of Wellington County’s Western Ontario Super Hockey League (WOSHL) teams.

Both the Elora Rocks and Erin Blitz had high scoring wins on Saturday as the WOSHL’s regular season winds down.

The Rocks had a dominating 14-2 win over the Delhi Flames at an away game despite Delhi taking the lead early with the first two goals.

Elora Rocks came back with 14 unanswered goals over the three periods with multiple Rocks players scoring hat tricks.

The Erin Blitz also came out on top at home on Saturday, beating the Tillsonburg Thunder 8-3.

Erin got the first goal of the game but Tillsonburg answered with two of its own in the first period. The Blitz went on to secure a win with three consecutive goals which the Thunder couldn’t recover from.

Both Elora and Erin have moved up the standings of the nine team league. After sitting in third place after last weekend's games, Elora is now ranked second behind Stratford.

Erin is in sixth place, moving up from seventh.

Elora has one game remaining in the regular season, facing off against Tillsonburg at home on Friday evening.

Erin plays twice on the road this weekend, in Tillsonburg on Saturday and Plattsville Sunday afternoon.
