ELORA – Both of Wellington County’s Western Ontario Super Hockey League (WOSHL) are playoff bound.

The Elora Rocks wrapped up its season on Friday with one last win over the Tillsonburg Thunder at home.

After a scoreless first period, Elora dominated the second period with three unanswered goals. The Thunder got on the board in the third period but that would be its lone goal with Elora scoring an empty-netter to finish the game 4-1.

The Rocks finished the season second in the standings with 18 wins and six losses.

Erin Blitz had a two game weekend, registering both a win and a loss.

On Saturday, the Blitz fell short against Tillsonburg 7-3. The Thunder secured the win with a four goal first period.

But Erin came back with a vengeance on Sunday with a blowout 12-1 win over the Plattsville Lakers. While Platsville got the first goal of the game on home ice, the Blitz put away 12 in a row for the win.

The Blitz have two more games to finish the season on home ice versus Alvinston on Saturday and Delhi on Sunday.

The team is currently ranked sixth in the nine team WOSHL standings.
