WELLINGTON COUNTY – Both Wellington County hockey teams came up short over the weekend in their respective Western Ontario Super Hockey League (WOSHL) games.

Elora Rocks had its first loss of the season after being shutout by Tillsonburg Thunder on Saturday.

Tillsonburg scored six goals on home ice over the three periods with Elora unable to put a single goal away.

The Elora Rocks now sit second in the standings behind first-place Tilbury Bluebirds.

Erin Blitz is still seeking its first win after a Saturday road loss to the Delhi Flames.

Delhi came out on top 7-5. The two teams kept up with each other in the first period, both scoring two goals before the Flames pulled ahead with three goals in the second period to Erin’s one. An even third period with two more goals a piece wasn’t enough to catch up.

Erin is last in the standings with five straight losses.

Both teams are on the road again this coming Saturday before Erin is at home on Sunday.

Erin Blitz will be taking on Stratford at 4:30 p.m. and Elora is facing off against Alvinston at 6:30 p.m.

The Blitz then take on Tillsonburg at the Erin Centre 2000 at 3:30 p.m.
