The Erin Outlaws will play in the newly formed OEHL which is made up largely of teams from the WOAA.

ERIN – Erin’s new senior hockey team has made a positive debut at its opening night.

The Erin Outlaws won 5-4 in a shootout against the Ripley Wolves Saturday on home ice.

This was the first game the team had in the newly formed Ontario Elite Hockey League which is made up mostly of former Western Ontario Athletic Associations teams.

The match started with a high scoring first period, with three goals for Ripley and two for Erin.

Two more goals for the Outlaws in the second and one for the Wolves in the third put the game into overtime where no goals were scored forcing a shootout.

Erin’s Jacob Coulson got the only goal in the shootout to secure the win.

The Outlaws have two games ahead this coming weekend, on the road against Saugeen Shores Winterhawks on Friday and at home Saturday against the Seaforth Centenaires.
