FERGUS – A Fergus native is following in the footsteps of his father.

Sam Black was drafted in the fourth round of the OHL Priority Selection draft on Saturday by the Barrie Colts. Black was the 73rd player selected overall in the 15-round draft of 2007-born players.

Sam's dad Ryan played for the Peterborough Petes and London Knights in the early 1990s.

Sam, a six-foot, 168-pound winger, scored 11 goals and added 25 assists in 32 games playing for the Waterloo Wolves minor midget team last season.
