The Fergus Whalers' inaugural season came to a heartbreaking end Sunday with a 2-1 loss to the Hanover Barons.
The Barons' Aaron Dukeshire scored the winner at 16:53 of the third period.
The Whalers' Jett Morningstar had opened the scoring in the first period, with Hanover's Ryan Colquhoun tying it up in the second.
Hanover won the second round playoff series four games to two.
Thursday Hanover took Game 5 with a 4-2 win in Hanover, scoring twice in the final 12 minutes of the third period to get the win.
