FERGUS – The Fergus Whalers were unable to add two points in the win column for a second weekend in a row.

On the road Friday, the Fergus Whalers had to settle for a 1-1 tie against the Hanover Barons.

The Whalers’ Evan Ahearn got the first goal in the first period and after a scoreless second period, the Barons scored in the third.

At home on Sunday, Fergus fell short in overtime against the Walkerton Capitals, falling 3-2.

The Capitals started off with a goal in the first period. Ty Anselmini and Keegan Clarke of the Whalers scored back-to-back in the second period before Walkerton put away one more that period.

Both teams were scoreless in the third but the Capitals came out on top getting a goal early in overtime.
