On the ice: how Wellington County hockey teams did this weekend

Weekly wrap-up on the wins and losses from the Elora Rocks, Fergus Whalers, Mount Forest Patriots, Erin Outlaws and Minto 81's

Fergus Whalers

The Fergus Whalers didn’t get the win against the Kincardine Bulldogs, losing on the road 3-2 last Friday.

The Whalers are ranked seventh out of eight in the PJHL’s North Pollock division with three wins, eight losses, two overtime losses and two ties. 

The team has two games this upcoming weekend, facing off against the Mount Forest Patriots in an away game Friday evening and then at home Sunday afternoon against the Hanover Barons.

Mount Forest Patriots

The Mount Forest Patriots had two big wins over the weekend, first at home Saturday shutting out the Walkerton Capitals 6-0 and then again on the road Sunday 7-2 against the Mitchell Hawks. 

The Patriots are ranked third out of eight in the PJHL’s North Pollock division with 10 wins, four losses and one overtime loss.

The team plays twice this upcoming weekend, first against the Fergus Whalers at home Friday evening and then on the road Saturday against the Goderich Flyers.

Erin Outlaws

The Erin Outlaws lost on the road against the Durham Thundercats 7-3 on Friday. 

The team is ranked ninth out of 11 teams in the OEHL with two wins and three losses.

The Outlaws play at home twice this upcoming weekend, first against the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks Saturday and then the Milverton Four Wheel Drives on Sunday.

Minto 81’s

The Minto 81’s lost at home on Saturday against the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks 7-3 on Saturday. 

The team is ranked fifth out of 11 teams in the OEHL with three wins and two losses.

Minto plays at home again on Sunday against the Ripley Wolves. 

Elora Rocks

The Elora Rocks did not play over the weekend. 

The team is fourth out of 11 teams in the WOSHL with four wins and two losses. 

The Rocks are back at it on Friday at home against the Dunnville Aeros.
