WELLINGTON COUNTY – After a couple losses in a row, the Elora Rocks got back to winning over the weekend.

At an away game in Strathroy versus the Jets, Elora took home the victory in a 3-1 match Friday evening.

The Rocks were able to consistently put away a goal per period while the Jets couldn’t get more than one past goaltender Colin Dunne despite putting more shots on net.

Elora remains in second place of the nine team Wester Ontario Super Hockey League, just behind Tilbury Bluebirds.

It was the first placed team that handed Erin Blitz its eighth straight loss on Saturday with Tilbury winning 7-2.

Although the Blitz got the first and only goal of the first period, the Bluebirds put away six unanswered goals in the second and third period.

Erin is ranked last in the WOSHL standings.

It will be a two game weekend for both Elora and Erin.

Friday will see the Rocks at home against the Plattsville Lakers before hitting the road to Stratford on Saturday.

Erin is on the road to Delhi on Saturday and Plattsville on Sunday.
