FERGUS – The Fergus Whalers couldn’t pull out a win during a two-game weekend, registering a loss and a tie both at home and on the road.
Friday, the Whalers fell short against the Wingham Ironmen in a 4-1 away match.
Wingham stayed ahead the entire game, scoring four straight goals throughout the three periods with Fergus’ Keegan Clarke scoring one towards the end.
At home on Sunday, the Whalers got a few more in the net but had to settle for a 4-4 tie against the Kincardine Bulldogs.
Fergus started strong in the game, scoring the only two goals in the first period but the Bulldogs ended up pulling ahead during the third period before Fergus’ Jack MacDonald was able to tie it up.
Overtime was scoreless.
There’s another two-game weekend ahead for the Fergus Whalers with an away game against the Hanover Barons Friday evening and then at home Sunday afternoon against the Walkerton Capitals.
