WELLINGTON COUNTY – Both of Wellington County’s Western Ontario Super Hockey League (WOSHL) teams had a good weekend.

Elora Rocks bested the Delhi Flames in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday night.

The Rocks pulled ahead early Friday evening at the Elora Community Centre for a 5-2 win.

Elora secured the win in the first period with four unanswered goals which Delhi couldn’t recover from.

It wasn’t as easy on the road Saturday but Elora pulled off a 6-3 win. Although Elora had the first couple goals, Delhi caught up and the match was tied at three goals a piece heading into the third period.

The Rocks then put away with three goals to finish off the game.

Elora is ranked third place in the nine team WOSHL, although the team is tied when it comes to points for first with Tilbury and Stratford.

Erin also got a win on Saturday in Tillsonburg in a 5-3 match. The Blitz got four in a row in the first and second period which the Thunder couldn’t catch up to despite its own three goal streak in the second period.

It will be a Wellington County battle on Saturday as Erin and Elora go head to head at the Centre 2000 in Erin. The Blitz then face the Delhi Flames at home on Sunday afternoon.
