November 12th, 1931 - March 24th, 2024

Showing his passion for connection and cheekiness until the very end, Frank Hammond passed away peacefully in his home at Heritage River in Elora on Sunday March 24. The parade of people through his room during his last days to share stories and well wishes tells the story and impact of Frank. Underneath his occasional gruff exterior was a man who loved to connect with and celebrate people. Especially the “little ‘darlings”.

Frank leaves a legacy of friends and family who loved him, admired his quick humour and envied his ability to entertain a crowd. Franks's voice was always a presence: so was his richter-scale sneeze and cough! Never afraid to say a few words in front of a group and invite others to do the same, Frankie was able to connect with people from all corners of his life with curiosity, humour and grace. Literally and figuratively.

We are planning a summer celebration of life when all of Frankie’s extended family can be together. In the meantime, we would love you to share your Frankie stories on Facebook. Please tag Frank Hammond in your posts and we will collect your stories and put them together to share at Frank-A-Paloza this summer. If you would like to share something a little more personal with the family, drop us a note at [email protected]
